Our Comprehensive Institute is internationalising its own educational role, focusing the attention onto some hubs:
There is also plenty of rivers and streams. Since the main activities are agriculture, fishing, wine and oil production, we recognize the importance of protecting the environment and nature. In particular, the Adriatic Sea is very sensitive to pollution for several reasons. First of all, it is a semi-closed basin, it has a medium-low depth, the water circulation is limited and the coasts are very populated. Due to tourism and industrial activities, many rivers from the Italian coastal side cause the contamination of the Adriatic Sea water. Given all the aspects above mentioned, we want our students to be aware of the importance of preserving the marine ecosystem and improving the sustainability of environmental resources, as well. During the years, to gain these objectives we have developed a lot of projects such as: -collaboration with the CENTRES OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION. -Garbage recycling in order to create a sort of artistic objects. -“Ambienti-amo-ci” project focused on our environmental heritage safeguard. -“Plastic-free” project focused on the problem of microplastics, relying on the “Care the Ocean” volunteer Association and in collaboration with the University of Camerino.
